Loard's goal of becoming an intricate part of a community has had impressive results with several of the stores still thriving in their original locations for over 50 years. Most of Loard's retail stores occupy an average of 1,000 to 1,200 square feet and are situated in a visible location within a community oriented shopping center or "old town main street" site. Loard's stores are owner operated, catering to each community's needs for ice cream parlors. In terms of style, the well established Loard's stores still favor the original, old fashioned style "magenta and white" booths with a 50's "retro" look, while the newer stores opt for the updated "retro" ice cream parlor style of royal blue and magenta, adapted to blend in with newer shopping centers. Old or new, the company requires that a Loard's store be fun, clean and community involved.

Currently, Loard’s services retail ice cream stores and cafes in Northern California and has locations throughout the San Francisco Bay area, Sacramento, the Central Valley and Northern California. (See our Store Directory).

The company is currently expanding in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Central Valley (Modesto and Stockton) and other Northern California areas. Stores are not required to be Loard’s stores. There are several independent stores serving Loard’s products throughout Northern California using Loard’s distribution arrangements from Fresno and the Central Coast to north of Sacramento. Loard’s also is the exclusive supplier of ice cream birthday cakes for leading family amusement centers in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In 2008, Loard's will continue the development of new store locations in Northern California, extending our distribution in the Central Valley and Fresno. We seek entreprenurial, "hands-on" owners who enjoy providing fresh ice cream products in a fun, family oriented environment.
